A stone knob can change the look of an existing furniture line, but it still has to fit the mounting hardware. The same is true of an inlay, insert, or decorative component. If your brand already has a design, MLDCRYSTAL can manufacture the natural stone part to an agreed specification, validate the fit with a first sample, and scale up from there.

Project at a glance

  • Start with a drawing, a 3D file, or a physical reference sample.
  • Approve the first article and check the fit before a pilot run.
  • The minimum order is 100 sets for first orders and reorders.

Send the design files you already have

We can start with whatever design file format your team uses. Send your current drawings or 3D files and include any specifications you already have. If you’re adding stone to an existing product, a physical sample helps us see how the parts fit together. If you can’t send one, we can make a sample for your review.

  • Dimensions and fit. Flag the dimensions and tolerances that affect assembly. Mark mounting points and contact surfaces where relevant.
  • Material and finish. Share your preferred stone, color range, surface finish, and any appearance references.
  • Acceptance criteria. Include any requirements for dimensions, appearance, surface defects, fit, and inspection records.

We can sign a nondisclosure agreement (NDA) before you share files. We can also agree on whether the product may be displayed, how photos may be used, and what any production exclusivity covers.

Check fit and machining feasibility

We can supply the stone as a standalone component or integrate it into an existing product. During the feasibility review, we assess hole positions, recesses, thickness, corners, and contact surfaces. We also review drilling, chamfering, slotting, polishing, and matte finishes as specified. The stone type and part geometry affect achievable tolerances and yield. We’ll tell you which critical dimensions we can control consistently for the proposed material and process.

  • If your team handles assembly, we supply the machined stone components for you to integrate.
  • If we handle assembly, send the other components to our designated warehouse.

Define acceptable stone variation

We can sort stone by color family, transparency, veining, or lot. We can also provide material samples and range samples that show the acceptable variation. If your specified material is in short supply, we’ll tell you before purchasing raw materials and confirm any proposed substitute or change of lot with you.

We can discuss changes by email, phone, or messaging. Any change to the approved material or manufacturing process requires written confirmation before we proceed.

Approve the first article and pilot run

  1. Set the acceptance criteria. Your team provides the inspection criteria for dimensions, appearance, surface defects, and assembly fit. We can provide measurement records, lot photos, and inspection reports according to the agreed requirements.
  2. Inspect the first article. Your team checks the first sample against those criteria and confirms that it fits in the intended assembly.
  3. Run a pilot batch if needed. Once the first article passes your assembly check, we can arrange a pilot run before full production.

Plan production, reorders, and shipping

The minimum order is 100 sets for both first orders and reorders. Sample and production lead times each start when payment for that stage is complete. The duration depends on the product. For larger orders, you can specify how much material to reserve. Split shipments can also be arranged.

We can follow your packaging artwork, label and barcode files, and carton specifications. Both unbranded and branded packaging are available. We can provide packing lists and batch documentation to match your requirements.
